Who we are...

We are a band of believers who have come together to worship our God and to help one another live in such a way that would give glory to Him, and to help one another make it to our heavenly home.

We have committed ourselves in faith to our Lord Jesus Christ and are striving to live lives that follow His example as we endeavor to be more like Him each day.

We call ourselves the North Shelby church of Christ because it identifies our location and who we are: the church (the called out) who belong to Christ.

We are not a denomination, nor are we any part of one, in that such is not seen in the Bible. We are the called out who, having answered the gospel call, have come out of darkness into God’s marvelous light, proclaiming His praises for saving us through the shed blood of His Son (1st Peter 2:9).

In that we are instructed that, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…” (Colossians 3:17), we then strive in every way to “abide in the doctrine of Christ” (2nd John 9), and to “hold fast the pattern of sound words” (2nd Timothy 1:13).

We do not look to the wisdom of men when determining what pleases our God, but to His word alone, respecting and limiting ourselves to the authority given in His word.
